The actress is currently starring as Amantha Holden on the Sundance Channel Drama series Rectify. Abigail Leigh Spencer is an American actress, who appears on the television industry as well as movies. Her popularity was boosted by her performances on the show drama Rectify along with the sci-fi series Timeless. A native of Gulf Breeze She began her professional career in soap opera All My Children. To honor her performance, she won the Soap Opera Digest Award as an Outstanding Female Newcomer. Over the next few years she was mostly a guest actor on a variety of TV series. Her popularity was rewarded for her role of the character Dr. Erin Jameson in the television series Hawthorne. The character gradually gained a fan base with her stunning look and incredible acting talents. In the film Campfire Stones, she played in the role in the film at age 20. Jekyll This Means War as well as Chasing Mavericks are other films where she was featured. Her role for in Beautiful Now was recognized with the Madrid International Film Festival Award. Recently, Spencer portrayed Lucy Preston (history professor) in Timeless. The show has been appreciated by critics, and Spencer's character has resulted in her being nominated to the Teen Choice Award.
